Why PUBG is not Banned in India ?
From few days there has been lot of tension rising among people on social media related to the Government of India imposing ban on 59 Chinese apps which include some famous and most liked applications like TikTok, Helo, WeChat, Clash Of Kings, etc.
Although, the reason for banning all these famous applications is very clear, this decision left the TikTok fans & lovers stunned and dry. Leading them to raise a question that “Why PUBG is not banned in India” it is also a Chinese app.
As the study conducted on all the other 59 applications cleared the thought that these applications are not 100% safe and can lead to serious data theft of its users personal data outside the country.
The IT Ministry’s statement on these apps - “stealing and surreptitiously transmitting users' data in an unauthorized manner to servers which have locations outside India"
But the people are still confused asking - Why PUBG was not in the List ?
PUBG is not a 100% Chinese app –
Yes, you read it right PUBG is not totally Chinese app.
The Popular PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds (PubG) battle royal game was originated in South Korea. Developed and published by PUBG Corporation, a subsidiary of South Korean video game company Bluehole.
Here comes the Chinese connection – Later, Bluehole partnered with biggest Chinese gaming company i.e Tencent to introduce the mobile version of PUBG. But still the game is not 100% Chinese and the origin and concept remains the same from South Korea.
Will PUBG be banned in India ?
No, the IT ministry and other Intelligence Departments have not found any trace for personal data leaks and misuse of this gaming application. So, It is still available on PlayStore and iOS like before. But this does not guarantee that it will be available in future also. If any untrusted and suspicious link is found with PUBG then it can also be banned in the near future as the Government might be adding few more applications in the ban list.
